   History of the Dojo

Aikido room at the Mendocino  Rec center

After relocating to the Mendocino Coast, Williams Sensei realized his need to create his own Aikibudo program. The Ki Stone Dojo was founded in the fall of 2005. For the first  three years it was located at the Mendocino Recreation Center in Mendocino, CA, in the Aikido building.  During the time there, the continuing growth of the dojo led to the need for a private, independent facility.

In September of 2008, the construction of a wooden yurt began at the Integrative Arts Body Awareness Center.  Located 2.3 miles north of Fort Bragg, on Highway 1.  Starting in November of 2008 regular classes were on hold until the reopening of the dojo in April of 2009.
